Alp Garfiun is a real gem in the Monbiel valley – reachable on foot, by bike or in winter on cross‑country skis. Even the roughly 45‑minute walk from Monbiel is an experience in itself: peaceful, close to nature and with an ever‑expanding view of the impressive mountain scenery.
At the top, guests find a cosy mountain restaurant with a large sun terrace and a homely Stübli. The atmosphere is personal, family‑run and warm – just as you imagine genuine Swiss alp culture.
Culinary‑wise, Alp Garfiun stands for simple yet high‑quality Swiss cuisine with a regional focus. Many ingredients come directly from the surrounding area – from cheese from the neighbouring alp to meat and sausage specialities from local butchers. Particularly popular are dishes such as barley soup, homemade Wähen (Swiss tarts) or a classic fondue, which is often served in the evening as part of atmospheric events.
Alp Garfiun stands for everything that makes Klosters special: tranquillity, closeness to nature, genuine hospitality and enjoyable simplicity.
In summer there are barbecues on Sundays in good weather; in winter, fondue evenings, sleigh rides and atmospheric full‑moon events create special moments. The alp is also a popular meeting point for hikers, bikers, cross‑country skiers and families – unpretentious, authentic and right in the heart of nature.
When: Open in the summer and winter seasons (depending on operating days and events)
Summer season starts 5 June 2026
