Alpabzug

The Alpabzug in Klosters Monbiel is an authentic piece of Swiss alpine culture and marks the end of the summer on the alp each year. On 19 September 2026 the animals return ceremoniously to the valley – accompanied by much tradition, music and a unique festive atmosphere.

A lively festival area with market stalls, alpine cheese tastings and regional specialities forms around the Monbiel car park. In the festival tent with heating there are culinary delights, while visitors enjoy the colourful goings-on.

There is plenty to discover for families too: a varied children’s programme provides entertainment, while musical performances in the afternoon with goosebump moments from alphorn sounds and folk music create a lively atmosphere.

In the evening the festival continues in high spirits with the traditional "Älpler-Lusi" – with live concerts, a bar and exuberant celebrations. The Alpabzug is a day full of encounters, emotion and genuine Grisons tradition – warm, authentic and unadulterated.
